Two Garden Conferences: Lander and Cheyenne

Garden Expo: Lander

More than 1,500 usually attend the annual free Garden Expo in Lander. The event is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Lander Valley High School, 350 Baldwin Creek Rd. The free expo is focused toward those who enjoy gardening, being in their backyards or getting outdoors.

There is a trade show, and Barnyard & Backyard workshops run throughout the day.

Workshops this year are pruning and caring for grapes, bird watching, managing weeds in your backyard and barnyard, planting perennial pollinators, growing vegetables, caring for young trees, cover crops in the vegetable garden, and marketing your farmers market business.

Gardening for Success: Cheyenne

The Laramie County Master Gardener and the University of Wyoming, Laramie County Extension office, the State Master Gardener Association and the Wyoming Farmers Market Association are hosting a two-day multi-track gardening conference, Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15.

Everyone is welcome. No gardening experience needed. From beginners, backyard gardeners, master gardeners, 4-H, community gardeners to farmer’s market gardeners there will be something to learn and help you be better at what you do in the garden.
